Obviously (as most have said before me), Craigslist.org is a great on-line tool to post for free (although, be forwarned- they do charge $75/ posting if they are to be listed in certain markets). Most professions have association websites and other career-specific site exist, some are free, some are not, but if you do a little research, you should be able to find some sites that offer a free job board that is soley specific to a certain industry or job.
